When I met you, you were all alone.

You smiled even when everyone was so much bigger than you.

Because you had the biggest heart.

You were pure bred and true.

Very valuable too.

How could anyone abandon you?

Everyone knew where you came from.

But no one knew who left you behind.

or why?

And I waited until the time was passed, when no one came to claim you.

Then I came rushing from so many miles, ready to take you away on that exact freedom day.

I asked you if I could make it up to you.

The lady at the animal shelter told me,

“He is rambunctious, has too much energy, impossible to handle.”

She left me with you alone in her office.

She was so busy, having so many animals to take care of…….

Bless her heart!

When she returned after fifteen minutes,

you were asleep in my arms.

I was sleeping also because I felt the same peacefulness.

How nice it is to be in the arms of the one you love.
